My brain stars

Understanding your recovery after brain injury

✴️ What is My Brain Star?

My Brain Star is a tool designed especially for people living with an acquired brain injury, including those recovering from a stroke, accident, brain tumour, aneurysm or other brain injury. It helps you understand how your brain injury may be affecting different areas of your life and identify the support that can help you move forward. My Brain Star is not a test and there are no right or wrong answers. It is simply a way of having a guided conversation about your recovery, your strengths and the things that matter most to you.

✴️ How does it work?

You will meet with a member of our team who will work with you to complete your Star.

Together, you will talk about nine important areas of life:

  • My Thinking Skills

  • Everyday Tasks

  • Personal Administration

  • My Physical Health

  • How I Feel

  • How I Spend My Time

  • Communication and Social Skills

  • Social and Support Networks

  • My Safety

The discussion helps you identify:

  • What is going well

  • Areas where you may need support

  • Personal goals that are important to you

  • Steps you can take to move forward
