Why Your Partnership Matters
95% of our members are stroke survivors, and the remaining 5% live with other forms of brain injury, including brain tumours, haemorrhage, aneurysm, and fall-related injuries. Stroke survivors make up the majority of our referrals and fill most of our spaces for free rehabilitation. Because of this, strong referral pathways with Jersey’s stroke charities have become essential, and demand continues to grow year after year.
Stroke is one of Jersey’s most significant health challenges. Over 130–150 islanders experience a stroke every year, and a further 100 people sustain another type of life-changing brain injury. Rehabilitation is vital, but it is also extremely expensive, and private care is out of reach for many families.
A brain injury affects more than the survivor. It often reshapes the entire family, with spouses or relatives becoming full-time carers and losing the ability to work. For many families, our Day Centre is not only the only free rehabilitation option available, it is also the only respite they receive each week.
At Headway Jersey, we provide a safe, accessible place for survivors to receive physiotherapy, social rehabilitation, and emotional support, while giving their carers a few essential hours of relief.
We welcome partnerships with corporate companies and local businesses who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of islanders living with brain injury.
There are a variety of ways to partner with us, from sponsoring specific rehabilitation programmes, supporting our transport service, funding staff posts, or becoming a long-term corporate member.
Together, we can ensure that every survivor has the chance to rebuild their liferegardless of their financial circumstances.
