Headway Bus Service
Sponsor or Fund a Recovery Journey – Fund a member for a year.
At Headway Jersey, we support islanders rebuilding their lives after a brain injury, stroke, brain tumour, accident, or illness. Many of our members require long-term rehabilitation, structured routines, and social re-integration to avoid decline, isolation, and hospital readmission. We are now launching Fund a Member, a programme inviting companies to directly support the people behind the statistics.
Dedicated to our Members
Our Day Centre is the only dedicated rehabilitation centre of its kind in Jersey, and keeping this lifeline open requires significant resources.
Headway Day Centre delivers a structured, professional rehabilitation experience designed to rebuild confidence, cognitive ability, physical strength, and social connection.
A typical day includes:
• Personalised Support & Monitoring
Staff greet each member individually, assess mood and wellbeing using our Red/Yellow/Green system, and tailor the day based on their physical and cognitive needs.
• Targeted Rehabilitation Activities
Members take part in carefully designed sessions such as cognitive stimulation, memory and problem-solving tasks, coordination exercises, physiotherapy-informed movement sessions, and therapeutic group work.
• Social Interaction & Community
Brain injury often leads to isolation. Members reconnect through group discussions, shared activities, and guided social engagement that strengthens communication, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Purpose & Routine
A structured environment helps members rebuild daily habits, regain independence, and maintain cognitive stability. Many rely on Headway as their only source of routine.
• Support from Specialist Staff
Our trained neuro-physiotherapist, activity coordinators, and speech and language therapist lead a structured, safe programme of rehabilitation, ensuring engagement, safeguarding, and tailored one-to-one support whenever required
• Transport & Accessibility – Headway Bus
Our accessible bus and trained drivers provide a safe, door-to-door service, ensuring members with mobility challenges or reduced confidence can reach the Centre independently and without barriers.

How many member-visits per week?
How many member-visits per week?
Centre open 3 days per week
40 member visits per week (not unique individuals — visits)
So, we treat it like a service unit cost:
40 visits per week
Cost per member-visit
£8,115.38 ÷ 40 = £202.88 per visit
Rounded: £203 per member-visit
This is your true cost of supporting one person for one Day Centre session.
Cost per member per month
Most of our funders want a monthly figure.
So if someone attends once per week:
£203 × 4 weeks = £812 per member per month
If a member attends all 3 days weekly:
£203 × 3 days × 4 weeks = £2,436 per member per month (most do)
Cost per member per year
For one visit per week:
£203 × 52 = £10,556 per member per year
For three visits per week:
£203 × 3 × 52 = £31,668 per member per year
